Handle With Care (Buffy Gen)

Title: Handle With Care
Author: JediButtercup
Rating: FR13

Fandom: Dresden Files
Pairing: Buffy Gen
Summary: Ms. Summers might as well have worn a sign reading 'Danger to Life and Limb' in large, neon print. 4000 words.
Spoilers: Fusion-fic. Set between #7 "Dead Beat" and #8 "Proven Guilty" in the Dresden-verse; post-"Chosen" and somewhat AU-ish for Buffy (B:tVS events as transposed to the DF world).

Reason to read: JediButtercup has a way of taking two fandoms and meshing them so that you wonder how they ever stood on their own. ‘Handle With Care’ is told from Dresden’s point of view and it’s so very Harry that I could have sworn Butcher was the one penning this story and Whedon had given him access to his copyright.

Even if you’re not fan of the Dresden Files, JediButtercup gives you enough back-story that you won’t be lost and should welcome the chance to be engrossed with some top quality writing. So why are you even reading this little spiel? Go read ‘Handle With Care!’ Vamoose!!!

In Like The Tide (Buffy/House)

Title: In Like The Tide
Author: Krisztina
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: House M.D.
Pairing: Buffy/House-ish
Summary: Over the years, he’d learned to play the distant, acerbic, professional healer so well he forgot what it felt like to take a risk and win the only woman of his acquaintance he truly wanted.

Reason to Read: It's the work of beloved Krisztina, an author that is known to write some beautiful tales. Her description is always so wonderfully balanced, giving lots but never causing you to get bored. If you're about to dive into Buffy/House tales I would highly recommend this be the one you jump into, you won't regret it!

Getting Away (Buffy/Sam Winchester)

Title: Getting Away
Author: BeccaFran AKA flyingcarpet
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Supernatural
Pairing: Buffy/Sam Winchester
Summary: Everything seems so normal. But normal doesn’t work for them.

Reason to Read: The whole scenario is so entirely plausible that while I was reading I felt like I was watching the show. Buffy's mannerisms and the way her mind all worked and clicked pieces together along with her dialogue was pure, 100% unfiltered Buffy. And the same can be said for Sam. The plot was fantastic and humorous and just read pure to the shows and characters that we love. Plus the prompt? It'll have you laughing out loud.

In Madrid (Buffy/Kirill)

Title: In Madrid
Author: humbuggirl
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: The Bourne Trilogy
Pairing: Buffy/Kirill
Summary: They meet in Madrid, in the shady streets of the Old Town while the rest of the city roasts in summer sunlight.

Reason to Read: Considering that there are so few crossovers featuring this fandom it's always a delight to find a piece but than for it to actually be good. I found the characterization and plot to be really fantastic. Plus it's completed so there's not begging for the next update!

Another Summers' Christmas

Title: Another Summers' Christmas
Author: Lady Yueh
Rating: PG
Fandom: House M.D. & Stargate SG-1
Pairing: Buffy Gen.
Summary: “Not the way you wanted to spend your Christmas, I’m guessing.”

Reason to Read: This was such a cute and enjoyable read. I loved the plot and how Lady Yueh managed to multi-cross these all together without it seeming past the limits of believability. The characters were in character and I chuckled quite a few times during this. The situation seemed entirely Buffy-esque. A very worthy read!

The Art of the Blonde Moment (Buffy Gen.)

Title: The Art of the Blonde Moment
Author: Smallville527
Rating: PG
Fandom: Gilmore Girls
Pairing: N/A
Summary: Sometimes Buffy really wondered how she managed to get herself into these situations.

Reason to Read: A humorous and delightful tale about Buffy pulling a Buffy. What made the TV show BtVS so fantastic, in my opinion, is that while Buffy could kick some serious demon butt she also said some ridiculously funny things or interesting and quirky/weird things would happen while she was on a date. Watching her try to navigate through all of this while not letting her secret spill was delightful to watch. Smallville527 managed to capture this while bringing in Gilmore Girls and their fast pace talking and crazy behavior. All around this piece was a joy to read and personally, I would love to read a sequel to this.

Life Lessons (Buffy Gen.)

Title: Life Lessons
Author: FaithUnbreakable
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Hancock
Pairing: Buffy, Hancock, Mary
Summary: Nine life lessons as learned by immortal superheroes while figuring out their lives, saving the world a bit and Getting Over It.

Reason to Read: Why not? I enjoyed the movie Hancock and liked the whole superhero that is broken angle. Huh, broken hero? I do believe our beloved Buffy knows a bit about that. That's really how these two worlds clicked so easily. I utterly loved how FaithUnbreakable weaved Buffy into this story and how their (Hancock & Buffy's) companionship filled an empty space in both their lives. Plus there's a pretty art banner to fill the visual love.
Title: Just Your Average Ordinary Teen Psycho
Author: Muse's Inspiration
Rating: PG
Fandom: T:TSCC
Pairing: Buffy Gen.
Summary: She'd only met her once, but there was something about Cameron Phillips that pinged her Slayer senses and she couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was.

Reason to Read: I haven't really gotten into this fandom much and I don't really know why. I did however love this piece. It's got a real character study feel to it, satisfied me immensely. I loved that Buffy had a feeling about John & Cameron but couldn't figure what it was exactly. Lots of authors write Buffy where she knows all and is the first person to figure stuff out and generally I'm not a fan of that. Buffy may be the longest living Slayer but that's due to lots of help and it always seems OOC to me when bam-moo she's the perfect everything. With that said, Muse totally stayed clear of those pitfalls and her characterization was perfect!

The dialogue from Buffy, John & Derek is pitch on and the snippet of the future made me giddy and excited. She meshed lots together in a small yummy package.

If you've yet to dive into this crossover, like me, I vote we jump in together because if this is the standard for this fandom? Sign me up!

The Gift of Death (Buffy/Legolas)

Title: The Gift of Death Chapter 1 & Full Index for all Chapter & Sequel Without You
Author: CinnamonGrrl
Rating: R
Fandom: Lord of The Rings
Pairing: Buffy/Legolas
Summary: Yes, another Buffy-jumps-into-the-portal-and-ends-up-in-Middle-Earth fic but give it a shot, eh? This one's different. Two smutty interludes as well.

Reason to Read: I had read this piece when I was in the height of my Buffy/LotR love. I was eating up every delicious story I could get my hands on and what made this stand out was that it was complete! *faints* So many LotR stories are left incomplete and it really breaks my heart. The author had a firm grip on the characters and I enjoyed the romance and the story. She eased Buffy into this world so fantastically. So, if you're interested in another fantastic Buffy meets Lord of The Rings than dive into this one
